Today I am going to review the Nykaa Skinshield Foundation.

I am not a foundation person. I just moisturize and dab some compact and I am done. But for events and occasions, I use foundation to hide those nasty acne scars.

I had heard a lot about the nykaa skinshield foundation and it seemed like the best choice. Nykaa is cruelty free, paraben free and mineral free.

Let's talk about why it makes into my #friyayfaves today.

Packaging: It comes in a sleek black tube which is convenient to use and travel friendly.

Shade range: It has 15 shades which is still less but considering the current Indian market and their previous launches, it is a huge leap. My shade is 06 Warm Nude.

Texture & Application: It has a weightless liquid texture which is not very runny. It spreads easily with the help of brush, sponge or even fingers. Oxidize??

Finish & Coverage: It gives a demi matte and dewy finish. It does not leave the skin tacky. It has medium coverage. It covered all my acne and scars in just one layer. A second layer helped to cover some more blemishes and the redness. Layering did not make it look cakey. If you have some major hyperpigmentation then you will need a concealer as well.

My Experience:

I use my fingers to blend it and it spreads easily and without any issues. Gives a nice smooth dewy finish. I have acne, redness and some texture (refer pic), it helps to hide most of them. I have oily skin and it did not make my skin look extra shiny. I have some dry patches but it did ot cling to them. (I always moisturize my skin well before applying makeup).

It lasts for at least 5-6 hours after which it starts to fade away. Some of the redness started to show after that but it did not become patchy. My face still looked good except for some minor redness and blemishes that were seen. It did not make my face shiny or oily.

Would I recommend it?

Yes. Just the fact that it has made into my favs says a lot. I have oily and acne prone skin and it suited me well. I think it would suit all skin types.
