Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner With Himalaya Waters

Hi friends,

Welcome to In my vanity box.

Today I am going to review the Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner With Himalaya Waters.

A toner is a very essential part of the skincare regime. Many bloggers talk about the CTM routine on their channel which stands for Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing.

A toner helps to restore the pH level of our facial skin. It helps to remove the excess oil from our face and also shrinks the pesky pores. Many people use it as an extra step to remove the excess makeup that they wear. A toner really helps in refreshing our face.

Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner With Himalaya Waters

Biotique is an ayurvedic brand that claims to blend ayurvedic therapies with the science of bio-technology. It is organically pure and preservative free, dermatologist tested for safety and not animal tested. It is made from 100% botanical extracts. It is not a cosmetic product and has therapeutic properties.

Claims: The Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner is formulated to bring the complexion into perfect pH balance and helps keep skin in its purest state. Cucumber is one of primordial cooling and purifying plants in nature with many beneficial health benefits. It is known to reduce skin puffiness and tiredness, and to restore natural skin freshness and tone.

Price: INR 175/- for 120 ml.

Availability: Available online and in beauty stores.

Ingredients: Daruhaldi (Berberis aristata), Dhania (coriandrum sativum), Majuphal (Quercus infectoria), Pudina (Mentha arvensis), Kheera (Cucumis sativus) Q.S.

Shelf Life: 3 years

Directions for use: Apply to cotton pads or washcloth and gently wipe over cleansed face and neck, morning and evening.

Packaging: It is typical Biotique packaging of a plastic bottle with a cap. Since I use it by taking a small amount and splashing on my face and directions also say to apply it on cotton pad, the packaging is convenient for that. It is also travel friendly as it is quite sturdy.

My experience

I had heard so much about this toner that I couldnt wait to finish my current one to buy this. All the beauty bloggers and YouTubers were raving about this. So maybe my expectations were already sky high.

The first time this came, I liked how it came in a plastic box with all details and a plastic bottle that seemed so sturdy. But, when I opened the cap, the smell! Horrible! It smells so medicinal and so strong. I was taken aback how bloggers could say that this is refreshing!

But, I thought maybe using it will change my opinion.

Like I mentioned, I splash it on my face and then pat it to get absorbed in my skin. It gives a burning sensation on application. Some of it went in my eye and it burned a lot! Which I thought was weird because of it ayurvedic properties and cucumber as the main ingredient.

However, it gets absorbed in the skin super fast. It doesn't leave my skin oily or greasy. You wouldn't even know that you had applied something. My skin feels smoother after I started applying it.

Did it tighten and reduce my pores? I don't know. I want to say no, but somehow don't have the heart to do it. It does reduce them a little bit. Maybe a more continued use would show better results. I have been using it since almost a week and a half.

But, even if it does reduce my pores, will I repurchase this? Absolutely not!

I want my toner to be refreshing and pleasant smelling (just like the Plum green tea toner), but not something that I apply and feel terrible to breathe.

Pros:

  • Absorbs quickly
  • Softens and smoothens skin texture
  • Organically Pure & preservative free
  • Dermatologist tested for safety, no animal testing
  • Travel friendly and sturdy packaging

Cons:

  • Awful smell
  • Burning sensation
  • No visible reduction of pores
  • No refreshing or cooling effect

My rating: 2.5/5
