Lakme Pink Rose Powder

Hi friends,

Welcome to In my vanity box.

Today I am going to review the Lakme Pink Rose Powder.

The first step in our make up routine is to prep our skin with some moisturizer. Then you go on to apply your BB/ CC cream, foundation or compact/ powder. It is important to set our face with a compact or loose powder as we live in a place where it is so humid that our face gets sweaty within minutes.

Lakme Pink Rose Powder

Lakme is a trusted brand that goes back to many years. There are many products from this brand that I am sure we have tried and loved.

Shelf life: 3 years

Ingredients:

Directions: You can either use a foundation brush or the available puff to apply this Lakme soft pink rose powder on your face. Blend it easily using gentle strokes to achieve a smooth and even finish.

Packaging: It comes in a plastic tub which has a secure lid. The powder is secure as it has a white lid covering to it that has some holes for you to remove the product. These holes are small and it is inconvenient to remove the powder. You have to take the lid off and remove desired amount of product which sometimes leads to spilling and wastage of powder. It comes with a puff also.

My experience

I had seen many beauty bloggers bake with loose powders. One of them also recommended loose powder over compacts for setting your face. I always wanted to try one.

I saw Lakme rose powder online which seemed an affordable option to start experimenting with loose powder first.

The powder has a light pink color and is finely mild. It has a really pleasant rose fragrance. The puff is also soft and can be used to apply the powder on your face.

As I mentioned above, the packaging is inconvenient to use. But, the powder works well.

It instantly mattifies my face and it feels smooth and velvety. It provides light coverage.

However, it tends to make my skin oily after 3-4 hours. I constantly feel like wiping my face with a tissue.

It works well for everyday use where you do not want heavy coverage or are not working in very sweaty environment. But a compact would be better for more festive occasions or where you need to be outside in the heat.

It mentions that it has sunscreen but it doesn't mention the SPF which makes me doubt if it really can protect us from the heat. Wearing a sunscreen underneath would be better.

I haven't tried baking with it but somehow I feel that it wouldn't work well for it.

Pros:

  • Affordable price
  • Evens skin tone
  • Makes skin smooth and velvety
  • Pleasant rose fragrance

    Cons

    • Inconvenient packaging
    • Makes skin oily after 3-4 hours
    • Sheer coverage
    • No mention of SPF

      My rating: 3/5
