Dead to Me Review
Have you ever been hooked to a show whose characters you deeply dislike?
Dead to Me is one such show for me.
It's not that the characters are lacking or not portrayed well. It's because of the behaviour, personality and qualities of the characters.
Jen and Judy are the protagonists of the show. Their personalities are like Retinol and HA, polar opposites in their functioning but somehow work together well.
Jen is the angry widow and mother of two sons who is set on catching the perpetrator of the hit and run case of her husband. Her reaction to everything is like the influencers who jump on the cancel culture bandwagon but later seem regretful and try to compensate. Impulsive, angry and extreme.
Judy is extremely optimistic and kind-hearted. She is literally like hyaluronic acid. Mixes well with everything, no negative reactions, always helpful. And just like all brands put HA in every product, Judy also has the habit of being in everyone's business even when not required.
The best thing is the relationship between Jen & Judy. It is portrayed so beautifully that I could not help appreciating their bond even in dark times.
Dead to me is not just a story about grief, loss and forgiveness but also a thriller that will hook you. It is a dark comedy that is built and showcased really well by all the actors.
