Home For Christmas Review
It is a Norwegian series that portrays a 30-year-old single woman's life and how she tackles her parents' comments to find a husband.
Johanne has to go home for Christmas because it is the societal norm to have a happy family dinner at the time of Christmas.
But, being a single woman, she feels left out and pushed over to the children table. Her mother constantly reminds her of her ex-boyfriend and his married life.
Johanne is a dedicated nurse. She takes up extra shifts at the time of holidays as her colleagues also want to spend time with their family.
Overall, her time during Christmas is as good as your skin is after rubbing lemon on your acne! (Just stop it!)
She sets on a journey to find a boyfriend before Christmas eve. She starts online dating with the help of her roommate.
She starts to date a young teen and finds him to be perfect for her. But can not continue with him because of the age gap.
Just like you keep over-exfoliating your face because it feels nice and soft but you know it's gonna burn your skin!
She is also shown to explore her sexuality by having an encounter with her female co-worker.
I love how the story is so mature and at no point does it feel awkward. All of the plots are written and explored quite well. It does not make it into a social cause fighting script neither does it make it seem trashy.
Moving on and becoming independent without going into the idgaf attitude is shown very well. It shows the different phases and faces of relationships.
A feel-good yet emotionally touching series. Something you can binge on!
